The association "Friends of Sister Emmanuelle" aims to support projects focused mainly on the fate of women and children subjected to unfair and revolting situations in the world.
The objective of the association is to improve the conditions of "safe" life for women and children: to feed them, care for them and train them professionally to enable them to develop harmoniously in order to successfully integrate into their society. According to the founder's wish, each of these activities is carried out independently of any political, religious or racial considerations, both for the excluded and the members of the association and for those who contribute to achieve this objective.
Friends of Sister Emmanuelle was founded in 1978, and is the first association to help Sister Emmanuelle. Friends of Sister Emmanuelle are mainly active in five countries. Historically, Egypt is the cradle of the work of Friends of Sister Emmanuelle. We currently support three projects there: Face for children in Need, Leeka and the association of ragpickers.
Since 1994, a large part of the work of Friends of Sister Emmanuelle has been directed towards Southern Sudan, where we support the "Holy Trinity Peace Village", and rapidly also towards Uganda, for the "Blessed Damian School". In 2003, the Friends of Sister Emmanuelle decided to extend their actions: they are now also present in Nepal, via CPCS, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo with 5 projects: "Dare to Live", "Solidarité Khiengé", "Jukayi", "Juka Utante" and "Soutenons-nous".
